Each year the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) uses hundreds of pro bono attorneys, volunteer law students, pre-law interns, and other professional and community volunteers to assist us in our mission to delivery top quality legal services to the poor in the Los Angeles Basin and Long Beach.

Whether accepting a case for representation, staffing a clinic or legal access center, providing counsel and advice by phone, or assisting staff with administrative tasks, volunteers help us provide more services to more people in our neighborhoods.

Unfortunately we are unable to use everyone who would like to volunteer with us. The application process is very competitive, and applicants should plan to apply well in advance of their preferred start date.

Our need for volunteers changes from week to week, and much depends on each individual’s background, availability, skills, and interests. Volunteers must be able to commit to a regular schedule. We will depend on you to fulfill your commitment. We are unable to use volunteers whose attendance is erratic.

Please look through these pages to learn about the opportunities we offer and how to apply. A number of other local legal agencies need volunteer help, please check their web sites as well. www.probonola.org Whether you volunteer with us or one of our friends in the community, thanks for donating your time and talents to help us work for access to justice for everyone in Los Angeles.
