Javier Beltran

Managing Attorney, Santa Monica Office

Javier Beltran joined Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) in September 2016. He oversees the Santa Monica Office. Javier previously worked at Inner City Law Center (ICLC) starting as a Staff Attorney litigating habitability lawsuits and unlawful detainer cases in April 2008. In November 2009, he was promoted to Directing Attorney for the Homelessness Prevention Department, supervising programs that included the Homeless Prevention Project and the Shriver Housing Project.

Before ICLC, he practiced civil litigation for an Orange County law firm and immigration law for a Sherman Oaks law firm. Before becoming an attorney, Javier worked as a schoolteacher in Los Angeles. He is a former board member and president of the Pico-Union Neighborhood Council. Javier received a BA in History from California State University Los Angeles and a JD from Southwestern University School of Law.

We also have three Domestic Violence Clinics, located at the Superior Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, the Santa Monica Courthouse and the Long Beach Courthouse.

LAFLA operates four Self-Help Legal Access Centers located in the Inglewood, Long Beach, Santa Monica and Torrance courthouses.
