Lana Martin

Grants & Contracts Manager

Lana Martin

Lana Martin manages all private and public grants and contracts activities at LAFLA. She is responsible for building relationships with granting agencies and contractual partners, coordinating submission of private and public grant applications, and researching new funding opportunities. With over 10 years of experience managing grant-funded education, research, and community outreach programs in the nonprofit and higher education sectors, she uses her ability to listen and analyze disparate information to support cross-disciplinary efforts that advance equity. 

Prior to joining LAFLA, Lana managed a portfolio of grants and contracts for 40 executive directors at Community Partners, a nonprofit fiscal sponsorship agency. She has also worked as an archaeologist researching prehistoric culture and food in Panama and on California’s Santa Cruz Island and taught college courses in the greater Los Angeles area. Lana earned her Doctor of Philosophy and Master’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from The University of Texas at Austin. She completed the Coro Southern California Women in Leadership program in 2021.
