The Position: The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) is seeking a temporary, part-time Digital Communications Intern. The Digital Communications Intern will help the Communications Manager identify, conceptualize, create, and execute digital media campaigns. The intern will help LAFLA boost its online engagement, raise its visibility, elevate its reputation, and connect more community members with LAFLA’s services and resources.


• Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communications or related field such as journalism, public relations, or graphic design
• Impeccable oral and written communication skills
• Experience with major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Knowledge of social media analytics software (e.g., Hootsuite, Facebook Insights) to track audience engagement and campaign performance
• Experience with graphic design and/or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
• Experience with CMS software (e.g., WordPress)
• Interested in social media trends
• Copywriting and editing skills
• Interviewing skills
• Creativity
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Available to work at least 10-20 hours per week
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Examples of Duties:

• Assist with development and execution of social media, web, and email campaigns
• Coordinate, create, and distribute content for social media, website, and emails
• Create and maintain editorial calendars for various digital platforms
• Track engagement across digital platforms and make recommendations on strategy
• Monitor social media channels and interact with community members
• Support strategic communications and marketing efforts
