Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles’ immigration work focuses on adults and minors who have been the survivors of crime, either in the U.S. or in their home countries. We help survivors adjust their status, navigate the immigration process, and keep their families together.

Get Help

You may be eligible for help securing your immigration status if you have been a victim of any of the following (regardless of where in the world it occurred):

Domestic violence
Sexual assault
Persecution
Child abuse
Human trafficking
Torture
And other serious crimes

We can also help with issues around:

Asylum and refugee status
Minors fleeing violence in their home country and coming to the United States without their parents (unaccompanied minors)
Adjustment of Status (green card applications)
Naturalization (citizenship)
Family reunification
Removal defense

We also help people who have been battered or subjected to extreme cruelty (regardless of where in the world it occurred), for example survivors of domestic violence, child abuse victims, and torture survivors, through our Torture Survivors Project.

Lastly, we have a dedicated team of attorneys and advocates who work with Asian Pacific Islander clients and communities, and can provide legal services for limited English proficient individuals.
