Pro Bono Training Institute

PBTI provides free online learning to teach pro bono attorneys about a variety of practice areas affecting low-income clients. While the trainings are geared toward attorneys, all who have a passion for advocating on behalf of low-income individuals are encouraged to use this site.

Dear PBTI Community,

We hope you are taking good care as we weather this unprecedented time of crisis together. We have received requests from our partners across the state as to PBTI’s ability to support emerging pro bono training needs related to COVID-19. We stand with you as our legal services community continues to respond to evolving service needs, and our team is ready to assist in any way we can. Should you have any questions as to how PBTI can support your organization, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at pbti@lafla.org.

As ever,
The PBTI Team

The Pro Bono Training Institute (PBTI) is a LAFLA-operated, online, on-demand training center that provides free trainings on a variety of substantive poverty law issues and language access topics. The trainings are developed by poverty law experts in California with the goal of increasing proficiency and efficiency of trainings for pro bono attorneys throughout the state.

Since launching in 2014, PBTI has sought to increase the number of attorneys and volunteers equipped to assist people in need. By increasing collaboration, promoting adult learning best practices and using a single training platform, PBTI aims to move toward closing the justice gap to make equal justice a reality.
