Through our Medical-Legal Partnerships, a medical team can refer patients to LAFLA attorneys. Our legal team provides patients with consultations and direct representation. They also educate community members and providers. This comprehensive approach leads to better health outcomes for patients and underserved populations. Whole Person Care/Medical Legal Community Partnership Los Angeles
LAFLA serves patients who are enrolled in Whole Person Care, a program administered by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services for the county’s most vulnerable patients. Funded by Medi-Cal, Whole Person Care helps the county’s most vulnerable patients, including the homeless; women who are pregnant or just gave birth; individuals struggling with mental health or substance abuse; medically high-risk patients, before and after their discharge; and individuals who have recently been released from prison. Clients here are referred by community health workers contracted with Whole Person Care. This project is a collaborative with Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County and Mental Health Advocacy Services.
