Fellowships

We invite law students and recent law school graduates interested in a public interest legal career to partner with Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles to pursue both external and school-based fellowships.

LAFLA has a long tradition of successfully hosting fellows sponsored by various programs, including Skadden, Equal Justice Works, and individual schools.

We will consider proposals from well-qualified applicants in any of our practice areas and look favorably on proposals with a strong pro bono component.

Note: You can get information about the LAFLA Equity & Inclusion Fellowship (LEIF) Program here.

Fellowship Application Procedure

We have completed final selection of student partners for external fellowship program (Equal Justice Works Design Your Own Fellowship Program, Skadden Foundation Fellowship Program) applications for 2022. We appreciate all of our applicants and are deeply grateful for your interest in partnering with LAFLA.

Applications for school-based fellowship programs remain open at this time and are reviewed on a rolling basis. To apply, please email your resume, unofficial transcript, writing sample, and a letter describing potential projects to Pro Bono Manager Tiffany Tsao.  Please also include in your application the description of the fellowship offered by your law school (including compensation, duration, etc.).
