Social conditions can have a greater impact on a person’s health than access to care. But civil legal issues can also impact a person’s health and well-being, and are often overlooked. These can include poor housing conditions, loss of public benefits, problems at work, or domestic violence.
Through our Medical-Legal Partnerships, a medical team can refer patients to LAFLA attorneys. Our legal team provides patients with consultations and direct representation. They also educate community members and providers. This comprehensive approach leads to better health outcomes for patients and underserved populations.
