Dayanara Salazar

Data & Innovation Manager

Dayanara is the Data & Innovation Manager at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. She oversees LAFLA’s legal case management system and other technology platforms, ensuring they align with organizational and funder requirements related to service delivery, compliance, and grant reporting.  

Dayanara combines frontline experience and technical expertise to build tools, improve systems, and make data more accessible and actionable. Prior to joining LAFLA, she streamlined data management practices and developed data visualizations to support data-informed decision-making as a Data & Policy Analyst at Al Otro Lado. Her background also includes community-based research in Argentina and Mexico, where she applied mixed methods to examine public health and socioeconomic issues affecting migrant communities, as well as several years as an immigration paralegal, which grounded her understanding of legal data and service delivery.  

Dayanara holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy and a bachelor’s degree in peace & conflict studies and political science from Colgate University.
