Elana Eden is Communications & Marketing Manager at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA). She develops LAFLA’s community outreach and advocacy strategies; facilitates media relations; manages and creates digital content and marketing materials; and leads special projects, such as the annual report.
Elana has led programs for social justice causes ranging from grassroots campaigns to federal agencies. Prior to joining LAFLA, Elana worked as Director of Media, Outreach & Education at the Housing Rights Center (HRC), where she oversaw dozens of municipal, state, and federal tenant education contracts on behalf of the nation’s largest fair housing enforcement organization. During the pandemic, she swiftly transitioned the organization to remote and hybrid services and built a robust digital presence.
Elana has been a movement researcher and advocate, including as co-director of the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project-Los Angeles and with Unincorporated Tenants United; Housing Now; the UCLA Institute on Inequality and Democracy; the Radical Housing Journal; Stop LAPD Spying; and more. She has also worked as a journal editor and conference planner. She studied rhetoric and geography at the University of California, Berkeley.
Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles seeks to achieve equal justice for people living in poverty across Greater Los Angeles. We change lives through direct representation, systems change, and community education.
