Karina Cazares serves as the Intake Supervisor for the Stay Housed Los Angeles (SHLA) program, where she leads a team of receptionists who serve as the first point of contact for tenants in Los Angeles with housing concerns.
Before joining LAFLA, Karina worked at other nonprofit organizations providing legal assistance to undocumented immigrants, including survivors of crime and unaccompanied minors. In these roles, she led intake processes and emphasized trauma-informed practices to support vulnerable communities with care and compassion.
Karina holds two bachelor’s degrees in history and international studies from UC Irvine.
