Matthew serves as a Supervising Attorney for the Eviction Defense Center at LAFLA. In his current role, Matthew focuses primarily on trial readiness. He often works one-on-one with attorneys to provide coaching and mentorship as they prepare for both bench and jury trials.
In addition to providing individualized support, Matthew also routinely provides advanced skills-based training with the goal of enabling attorneys to keep their trial skills honed. Matthew has also served as an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).
As an experienced litigator, Matthew also pushes the boundaries of traditional motion work in his own cases. Notably, he has on more than one occasion successfully argued motions outside the scope of what was traditionally thought possible in the Unlawful Detainer context.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Loyola Marymount University, and his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School, where he was part of the SCALE two-year accelerated JD program.
