Eviction (Unlawful Detainer)

Currently, there are several temporary tenant eviction protections as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and even rental assistance if you qualify. However, if you are given an eviction notice and/or lawsuit, you must respond appropriately to protect your rights and home. Evictions are moving forward at this time despite the COVID-19 pandemic. We may be able to help assist you with your eviction.

You can also visit www.stayhousedla.org to be referred to a legal services program and a tenants organizing group for assistance.

For tenants who need  legal resources about eviction and rent debt and need to file an answer case, www.tenantpowertoolkit.org is here to help.

** If you would like more information on answering the eviction (preparing the Answer and Fee Waiver) on your own, watch our how-to videos in English and/or in Spanish. and use these forms: Answer and Request to Waive Court Fees.
