Alyson Sprafkin is Chief Development Director at LAFLA. In this capacity, Alyson oversees LAFLA’s robust fundraising portfolio, ensures diversity of revenue sources and collaborates with volunteers and donors to maximize support, and thereby impact.
Alyson practiced family law in Los Angeles for ten years, during which time she represented clients in divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, property division and domestic violence litigation. The unexpected preterm birth of her first child inspired her to transition to a career in fundraising, initially for March of Dimes. As a Senior Development Manager for March of Dimes, Alyson led community fundraising efforts around maternal/fetal healthcare in Southern California. Subsequent to this role, Alyson worked as a Senior Executive Director for City of Hope, where she oversaw grassroots fundraising campaigns to support cancer research, treatment, and prevention.
Alyson received her B.A. in English and Psychology from the University of Maryland Honors College and her J.D. from Cardozo School of Law.
