Jeff manages the attorneys and advocates working on the Eviction Defense Center (EDC) team at LAFLA. The EDC provides tenant representation in unlawful detainer (eviction) actions and provides tenants rights’ information to the community. The EDC team also incorporates the Right to Counsel group, which facilitates the Stay Housed L.A. program at LAFLA. With LAFLA as the lead legal services provider, the Stay Housed L.A. program is a collaborative of over 20 legal service providers and community organizers dedicated to tenant advocacy and homelessness prevention through direct housing assistance to tenants who qualify.
Previously, Jeff supervised LAFLA’s Self-Help Centers in the Inglewood, Torrance, Santa Monica, and Long Beach Courthouses. Before joining LAFLA in July of 2018, Jeff worked at Inner City Law Center and Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) doing eviction defense work through the Shriver Housing Project of Los Angeles. While at NLSLA, Jeff was promoted to Associate Supervisor for their Homelessness Prevention (Measure H) Program. Jeff wants to spend his career eliminating barriers to justice and ensuring equal access to the court system for all.
Jeff received a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside and his JD from the Southwestern University School of Law.
