LAFLA is currently accepting applications for the position of Receptionist.

Qualifications:

• Three (3) years minimum experience as a receptionist or similar front-desk representative.
• Outstanding verbal communication and customer service skills with the proven ability to relate to diverse individuals with respect and humility on a consistent basis.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in keeping accurate records and documentation.
• Prior experience working with people who are in high stress situations is helpful.
• Understanding of and commitment to LAFLA’s community-driven missions and priorities.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Examples of Duties:

• Answer a high-volume of calls and in-person requests from individuals seeking legal assistance and perform an initial intake screening with care and empathy.
• Oversee the lobby and reception areas, ensuring areas are always monitored and maintained to provide the best experience for visitors and individuals seeking LAFLA’s services.
• Assess a potential client’s eligibility for legal services and connect every individual with appropriate resources and information.
• Input potential client and client information into online case management systems timely and accurately, and properly document all client interactions.
• Schedule appointments and communicate effectively via email, Microsoft Teams, and case notes with clients, colleagues, and partner agencies.
• Perform other clerical duties, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing.
