LAFLA is proud to announce the release of our 2024 Annual Report—celebrating our 95th year protecting the promise of equal access to justice.
Founded in 1929, we have remained a bedrock resource through nearly a century of change: from the Great Depression to World War II, the economic crises of the ‘80s and 2000s, the COVID-19 pandemic, and more. In every era, LAFLA has pioneered new ways to bring justice into reach for all—and we continue to build on those lessons today.
In 2024, more than 100,000 people benefited from LAFLA’s services. In our report, you can hear from two of them:
- Emi, a single mom who fought back when CalFresh tried to penalize her for having her food benefits stolen by hackers
- Burke, an artist who LAFLA represented for 10 years until finally winning the disability assistance he was owed
